Q. How safe is Grenada ?
A. Living in Grenada is safer than most cities and suburban areas of the world. People of Grenada , mix easily with visitors.

 

Q. What do I need to go to Grenada ?
A. A passport is required, and citizens from certain countries may require travel visas

 

Q. How do I get to Grenada ?
A. From the UK , British Airways, Virgin Atlantic Airways and Golden Caribbean - Monarch Airlines serve Grenada with weekly direct flights from London 's Gatwick Airport .

 

 

From Frankfurt, Concor operates a weekly service to Grenada during the winter season

 

From the US , American Airlines services Grenada with direct flights from Miami and connections via San Juan , Puerto Rico with American Eagle. Delta Air also service Grenada with non-stop flights from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York .

 

From Canada , Grenada can be reached via Air Canada Vacations that operates a seasonal direct flight from Toronto to Grenada . AC operates daily flights from Toronto to Barbados with connections on LIAT to Grenada . Caribbean Airlines operate regularly scheduled flights from Toronto to Barbados and Trinidad with connections on LIAT to Grenada . West Jet operates a flight from Toronto to Barbados with connections on LIAT to Grenada year round.

 

From the Caribbean LIAT Airlines provides connections into Grenada 's Maurice Bishop International Airport from many Caribbean islands along with connections to International flights from Antigua , Barbados , St Lucia and Trinidad . Conviasa Airlines provides service from Porlamar, Margarita.

 

Q. How do I get to Carriacou ?
A. SVG Airline provides daily flights to/from Carriacou's Lauriston Airport. You may also come with the ferry service, Osprey Express Ltd.carriacou ferry

 

Q. What language it is spoken on the island?
A. English and patoie which is a mix of old French, African languages.

 

Q. What is the currency in Grenada ?
A. Eastern Caribbean dollars ($EC). $US dollar is accepted at a rate of 2.67$EC. There is two major bank on Carriacou island: First Caribbean International Bank AND Republic Bank of Grenada Ltd, both located in Hillsborough. There are also few ATM-banking machines on the island. Visa & Master card are accepted almost every where.

 

Q. What kind of electricity power is use?
A. 220 volts/50 Hz. Most of the hotel provides 110volts also. But you should bring an AC transformers/adapters to fit the British type 13 amp, 3 pin sockets. 

 

Q. What is the temperature?
A. All year long temperature is between 80F to 85F (27C to 32C).

 

Q. Is there a rainy season?
A. Heavy rains are possible between June and November. But most of the time it is very pleasant with a cooling shower every now and than. The dry season stands from January to May. Hurricanes can occur between June and October, but are very rare in our parallel.

 

Q. What is the dress code?
A. Light casual most of the time. Visitors are asked to wear beachwear over their bathing suit while walking in town.

 

Q. What should I bring?
A. Sunscreen & sunglasses, beachwear and sandals, beach towels, camera, a flashlight (it gets very dark at night), mosquitoes repellent, electricity adaptator, books and your favorite CDs

 

Q. How do we travel on the island?
A. Buses have fix rate and run from 07:00am to 5:00pm and can bring you to most of the places on the island. For reasonable price you may take a taxi. They also work on fix rate. You can rent mountain bike to explore the many tracks and trails or you may rent a jeep. Do not forget to bring you driver permit although you will be asked to buy a 90 days driving permit. Driving in Grenada is like in England , at left.

To see the beauty of the small islands surrounding Carriacou, you can turn yourself to the Water Taxi association.

 

Q. Where do you dive?
A. We have more than 25 dive sites along the west side of the Island from south to north. Some of our dive sites are located into the Marine Protected Area.

 

Q. How long it takes to the dive sites?
A. Not more than 15 minutes from our private jetty, it depends which dive site we approach.

 

Q. What size are your dive groups on the boat?
A. We are specialized in small group of 10 divers or less. Want to make sure you see more fish than divers!

 

Q. Can we choose where we go?
A. If you have dived here before you can certainly request certain areas. A number are quite weather dependant so we may not always be able to go where you want. For example whenever we dive the southern sites we just plan on “going south” and then decide where we think conditions will be best that morning. We normally rotate around the different dive areas to allow guests diving with us on consecutive days as much variety as possible.

 

Q. Where is the best dive?
A. If we thought there was a best dive we wouldn't go anywhere else! Regular divers to the islands know that every area is beautiful and any site can deliver a memorable experience. We regularly see sharks, eagle rays and turtles as well as a myriad of tropical reef fish.

Q. What time do you leave and return?
A. We normally dive at 09:00am and 2:00pm. Schedule can be adjusted to suit our customers by doing 2 dives in row .

 

Q. How is the visibility?
A. Varies with currents between 20 - 70 meters / 60 - 200 feet.

 

Q. What is the water temperature?
A. Winter minimum 80 / 26C, in summer up to 86 F / 30 C.

Q. Is there shore diving on Grenada ?
A. Most of the reefs and wrecks are off shore and not within reach from shore..

Q. Where is the nearest recompression chamber?
. In Barbados and Trinidad , 20 minutes flight. Carriacou has a small hospital where a doctor is always available.  Advanced medical cares are available on Grenada , Barbados and Martinique islands. 

Q. Do you provide lunch?
A. Water, cookies or fruits are served between dives. Lunch is providing on day excursion only.
